London Victoria is an Underground Station and Railway Terminal. Being the
second busiest railway station in London, it sees over 70 million commuters annually with quite a
large percentage being foreign travellers since it has a direct air terminal to the Gatwick Airport. This
enormous number of commuters gives you an indication of how popular the area around London
Victoria should be.
Close to the station you get two Royal Parks of London, Green Park and St James’ Park. St James Park should be a must see on any traveler’s list. Being the oldest Royal Park of London, it has been home to a colony of pelicans since the 1660s when the birds were first gifted by an ambassador from Russia. The park also features a lake which consists of two islands where you can see a large collection of waterfowl. If you are not looking to nature to keep you entertained, then culture is bound to do it in Victoria. Victoria is home to the mother church in England and Wales to the Catholic community, the Westminster Cathedral. The church is over 100 years old and houses some epic artwork and has one of the finest choirs in the world.
Victoria also has a mini version of the Big Ben, the Little Ben. You can also get a blast of music and acting from the many theatres around the area such as the Apollo Victoria and the more famous Victoria Palace Theatre. Coupled together with a collection of the United Kingdom’s finest hotels in terms of luxury and prices, Victoria is a definite hotspot for tourists.
