St Pancras


St Pancras is returning to its former glory.
The former Midland Grand Hotel, with its eye-catching red brick Grade 1 listed Gothic façade has now reopened its doors as part of a £200 million development plan with the conversion of 67 luxury apartments now completed and a 5 star, 245 rooms hotel due for completion in 2011, Rowan Moore, architecture critic for the Evening Standard writes on Feb 10th.
Designed by Sir Gilbert Scott and built between 1868 and 1876, the Midland Grand was closed in 1935 and were used as railway offices until 1985, known as the St Pancras Chambers.

The London Eye


The London Eye celebrates its10th birthday this year. The London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel is the largest Ferris wheel in Europe, and has become the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over three million visitors a year. Erected in 1999, at a height of 135 metres (443 ft), the London Eye was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world.
